i make a e-card every year to send out to clients. i decided to model some fairy lights this year and the usual xmas decorations. i used cinema 4d and fryrender to render them. using fryrender allowed me to get a more realistic lighting to the scene. i used a mix of layers for the decorations this let me have a reflective metal look along with a matte finish to the xmas ball. well thats about it apart from an early HAPPY XMAS ALL CGTALKERS

i created the scene in cinema 4d using normal poly modeling, etc and then i unwrapped and painted the textures of the buildings etc in bodypaint. i also added a slight natural unstraightness to the path to try to make it appear more natural. i then exported the wood work and foor into the ivy generator, found here : http://graphics.uni-konstanz.de/~luft/ivy_generator/
